TYSON YOSHI

The Villain Concert [2025]

Set Design by Ruby Law

For Tyson Yoshi’s immersive concert The Villain, the set design explored around the theme of blurred boundaries between good and evil, light and dark, hero and villain.

The venue was split in half using a giant translucent LED screen. As the audience entered, they were divided into two opposing sides, dressed in black or white capes, unable to see each other until the screen lifted at the start of the show. That reveal created a powerful moment of confrontation and connection.

The LED screen served not just as a visual backdrop, but as a central storytelling device. Its semi-transparency allowed performers to shift between front and back, creating layered visuals and shifting perspectives. Physical scenic elements, including a throne, a goddess statue, and a ruined Porsche, marked key moments in the story.

The show was a collaborative production that moved from bold visual ideas to full-scale reality, thanks to an incredible creative and production team.
